    I could not get all of the ghosting off of my RV. The filon became an unnatural bright white as if I was going too deep and you don't really see it until it is too late. I think that my new graphics will "trick the eyes" and hide it though. (May have gotten lucky). Some of the ghosting did come off well and buffed out into a very nice, glossy white finish.

    For safety reasons i never clean the steering wheel. Friction and a level of gooeyness come in handy when quick steering to evade a meteorite to the face. My customers appreciate that level of foresight.

    LOL! I was sitting here with arms folded, expecting you to recommend some type of spray wax or quick detailer etc, and i was ready to POUNCE, to tell you that distilled water is all you need. 🤣 I agree with you 99%, and I think you must be the most honest YT detailer that exists. Why only 99% though? Because I've discovered that just dry buffing works too, IF all I'm removing is light fingerprints or dust, but it takes longer. I apply very light pressure, and just keep buffing until it's clear. (I'm a chauffeur, and do this at least daily) If there's anything more substantial though, dry buffing doesn't work, and yes, i then reach for the distilled water. But the glass is easy, because it doesn't scratch easily. How about the PLASTIC dash cover/screen, over the dials? I assert that it's IMPOSSIBLE to clean that bastard without marring it. 🤣 Message to Yvan Lacroix: see? You're wrong - you do NOT always have to add bloody ONR to water!! 🤣

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail 6 днів тому

      I love your comments and your own conclusions you have come to based on your experience. Which I am of the opinion is very different from most people who tend to regurgitate information their mind has decided is valid rather than drawing from actual experience. I will add this nugget of irony: in the original video I address the very thing that is literally happening here. I quote myself: "I know someone in audience land will say, hey Darren, you don't actually even need water since you can clean this screen with nothing but a clean microfiber cloth just like how you get those little MF cloth swatches with sunglasses/eye glasses and you just rub the lens clean." But I decided to cut that part out during editing since I thought o myself that I was being too long winded. And yet, here we are! I love it. And I am super glad you sent this ( I assume that is what you meant) to him to let him know you don't need ONR for every single task of detailing. Today's "climate" of social media and University of UA-cam is a clear display of something I have been saying for over ten years: it seems that everyone wants to talk about detailing, teach detailing, and promote detailing but nobody wants to actually do it....because it is hard AF!! And the most honest man on YT??? Absolutely, positively correct! I will run with that label all day long and do more of the same.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 6 днів тому

      Thanks Darren! Just on the distilled water vs tap water issue - yes, I'm sure I could get away with tap water. The main reason I use distilled is simply so that any overspray will not leave spots. (just as an aside, I sometimes use distilled water, using the "waterless" (spray & wipe) method, to clean my entire car - I'm convinced it's not much different to using a so-called waterless fluid/solution - the key is to use light pressure)

    Never spray a solution on your leather seat, the sprayed area can change to a different color due to spraying the chemical on one spot could actually overclean that area then your forced to try to get the entire areas to match, SPRAY YOUR MICRO FIBER TOWEL THEN APPLY AND WIPE QUICKLY...
